Gold Coast Launches LGBTQ+ Run Club: HOMOCOMING Makes Its Debut

By Dustin Lowrey (@cadydeville)

Broadbeach, QLD - A new running club has arrived on the Gold Coast, designed to blend community and movement together. HOMOCOMING, an innovative LGBTQ+ focused run club, kicked off its inaugural event this weekend with an early morning jog in Broadie.

Participants are actively welcome to gather outside Kurrawa Surf Club at 7:00am for a welcoming, no-pressure run: 15 minutes out, 15 minutes back—walk, jog, skip, or “leap at your own pace.” The walk’s founder says.

Afterward, runners are welcome to Elk Espresso.

The initiative was sparked by a simple idea: what if there was a space for queer runners to feel at home—just as they are? HOMOCOMING aims to fill that gap, providing a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment for LGBTQ+ people and allies alike.

With a growing online following and Pride Month energy in the air, the club is quickly gaining traction under the banner of #RunWithPride.

More than just fitness, HOMOCOMING is about visibility, connection, and community on the move.
