Gold Coast Icon Terry Daktyl Wraps Up Statewide Tour with a Rhinestone Finale

Local legend and Gold Coast icon Terry Daktyl has been dazzling audiences across Queensland with a series of innovative and creative events that put a flamboyant twist on a classic drag experience.

The final stop in the five-week tour featured a demure Sunday Sesh and reimagined the traditional paint-and-sip with a diamanté -upgrade. Attendees were seated and welcome to enjoy a specialised cocktail menu, food, and fellowship before being guided through a how-to rhinestone glam sesh.

Those in attendance left with bespoke, bedazzled creations of their choice. Stencils, chalk, wax pens, and additional rhinestones were on offer; however guest were also encouraged to go rogue guided by Terry’s expert rhinestone technique.

DRAG QUEEN PRO TIP

Terry, who has performed in drag for over 12 years, originally under the alias Imogen Nation, shared both rhinestones and real talk. Her best advice: Spotlight price matches for rhinestone glue. Great advice for any young queen who wants to look stage ready on a budget.

Spotlight price matches Lincraft online for popular rhinestone glue, E6000, an essential in any diamante kit.

Stops on the tour included Cairns, Chinchilla, and Brisbane.

Bringing a bit of Broadway to Beenleigh, in their opening show, Terry kept it AB-Crystal clear: “Please don’t touch me.”
